My story with Shaolin did not begin with a decision to train, or even with knowing what Shaolin really was. The first trace of it appeared back in 2019 during one of my trips to China. In Zhangjiajie, I noticed a small group of people wearing clothes that I associated with martial arts. I did not know who they were, what exactly they were practising, or what it was called. I tried to find information at the time, but I never discovered the name “Shaolin.” After September 2019, that memory slowly disappeared into the background. Years passed and eventually I almost completely forgot about it.

League of Legends is something much bigger to me than a game I launch only to win or reach a higher rank. It is one of the longest-running hobbies in my life and a huge chapter that has developed together with me over many years. There were beginnings when I understood almost nothing, then learning champions, items, the map and tactics, my first ranked games, friends, playing together with GatePlay, The Snake Deaf team, lowisko, 1v1 tournaments, Clash, IEM Katowice, esports, skins, pentakills, toxicity, punishments, a permanent ban, breaks and later returns. I do not want to present this story as if I had always been a great player or had always behaved perfectly. That would not be true. I made mistakes, lost games, became angry, sometimes crossed the line and only later understood the consequences. At the same time, League gave me many good memories that I do not want to lose. That is why this text is not just a story about rank. It is a story about a part of my life.
